Best Vegetarian Restaurants Melbourne

Eats and Hangovers

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

Being a vegetarian is an amazing accomplishment and the best possible way to help the environment. It can be tough, but luckily these Melbourne restaurants make it super enjoyable and stress-free.

Rice Paper Scissors

Fitzroy & CBD

Rice paper scissors has an entire menu dedicated to vegan food, and not only that but it’s actually amazingly delicious food, such as the tempura eggplant buns pictured here! Additionally, they have some great fish options (pictured behind) for any pescatarians out there. But seriously the vego food here is so good if you’re bringing some meat-eaters along they’ll be just as satisfied.

Tokyo Tina

Windsor

Another great restaurant looking after all the vegos out there is Little Hop. 50% of their menu is dedicated to vegetarians, with the option to veganise all of them. They have mushroom, zucchini, and green bean tacos! Pictured isn’t vego (sorry) but it does show the delicious fish taco for any pescatarians! I’d recommend adding the salsas they offer too!

Evie’s Disco and Diner

Fitzroy

A bottomless brunch that caters to vegans? It does exist! Evie’s is serving up 4 options with their bottomless brunch, all of which can either be made vegetarian or vegan (pictured is meat). The vegan BLT came away with great reviews and the vegetarian pancakes also looked amazing!

Italian!

So, this isn’t a restaurant but an entire category. I think Italian is a great option for vegos and it seems silly to list every great Italian in Melbourne - there’s too many! My favourites would be Good Times (pictured), Etto, DOC, and Basta!

Thai!

Thai food is another great option for vegetarians. The food has so much flavour the meat is absolutely unnecessary. A tofu pad-Thai is my absolute go-to. My favourites in Melbourne are Thaila Thai and Thai City (pictured).
