Ciao papi
Ciao Papi is at Howard smith wharves, a must see for any visitor. While there are many great restaurants at HSW, this one has arguable the best view, being seperate to the other establishments, and is entirely outdoors meaning you‘re guaranteed a good seat. The food is bound to impress, and Italian food is universally loved. Head here for a late lunch and then walk down to Percival’s or one of the many lawns to have a few drinks and watch the sunset over the river.
Maya Mexican
Maya Mexican is another beautiful mash up of views and divine food. The cocktails alone are a reason to head, but it’s also the best place to see almost all of the city at once. The atmosohere is great at any time of day, but you can’t beat sunset margaritas and tacos. It’s also the perfect place to head into the Valley clubs after, or maybe a round of mini golf at Holey Moley.
Bar Kiddo
Another place to wow your guests is bar kiddo, down a laneway and through a very inconspicuous doorway you will find a tiny japanese bar. While this is not the place for groups or anyone old enough to pull a torch out at dinner (we’ve all seen them) it will throughly impress all young(ish) foodies , especially those that look down on our amazing Brisvegas. The drinks are all exciting, each with its own flare, including my favourite that’s served on dry ice in a light bulb! The food as well is delicious and very photographable.
Morning After
Coffee and breakfast is a must do here in Aus, and no better place in Brisbane to spend this time then morning after in West End. The food here is always good, no matter how busy they are (and they probably will be), but it’s also always interesting, move over bacon and eggs. West End is also another great suburb to explore as a Brisbane newbie, so it sets you up perfectly for your day.
Julius
While exploring Brisbane, it’s not doubt you’ll end up in Southbank at some point, and there’s no better place to eat here than julius pizzeria - some of the best Italian food in Brisbane. Located near the iconic Brisbane sign and musuem stop by for an early dinner to avoid long waits.
other places to try:
