Pleasantly surprised by the great feed I had at @pingpong_asian in Newstead. Going into it I wasn’t sure if this place was going to be all about the glitz and less about the food but I should’ve known not to underestimate the foodies behind @____morningafter ! But speaking of glitz - this place is insane (checkout my story highlight for the video). One half of the restaurant is all pink with these gorgeous light up ball chandeliers and the other half is a jungle oasis.
For food we ordered the crispy betel leaf (also loved you could order just one item from the snacks menu if you wanted to try something others didn’t), sriracha and honey bao (last pic), yum Khao tod (similar to san Choy bow but with a more satay flavour, first pic on the right), beef massaman curry (first pic left), and pad see ew (second pic). all of them were amazing and I would definitely order them all again - except the crispy betel leaf which I was not expecting to be a deep fried fish sausage in a betel leaf and didn’t really like.
In terms of drinks I got their cocktail slushie which tasted watery and was too small to be worth the $14, I would recommend just ordering off the normal cocktail list.
This place is perfect for a girls night out and you should definitely check it out (it reasonably priced too and has 2 hour free parking underneath).

Hangovers 🥂 : anything but the slushie
