Paik’s Noodles

Paik’s Noodles

don’t think it gets more comforting than Korean noodles

This is @paiksnoodle_australia which is a new restaurant opened by famous chef Jon Won Paik.

We ordered the jajangmyeon which is the black soybean noodles and they were really delicious, a little on the sweeter side which I found a lot of the dishes to be. My favourite was the bokkeum jjamppong which was a stir fry noodles with a tiny hint of spice and some delicious kimchi in there. Then we got the tang-suyuk which was the sweet and sour pork, also great but again quite sweet, and the chilli prawns which are new to their menu, these were great and I loved the lettuce you could wrap them in to eat, however there was no chilli factor and it was also quite sweet. I’d recommend switching one of these out for the gochu yuringi which is a spicy fried pork so that you can get a bit more diversity in the flavours and textures!

Inside the restaurant has two levels and is very casual, I think it’d be the perfect place to stop by after a long day shopping in the city!

Since this was my first time trying Korean food I do wish that the menu had descriptions of what each dish was since I was very much at a loss! My only other complaint would be that there’s no vegan or even vegetarian options which in a city like Melbourne is a pretty big issue haha half my friends are vego!!

If you’ve never had Korean food, love Korean food, or just love noodles I definitely think you should come here. The food surpassed my expectations and was so delicious I will definitely be back.
