Otto Osteria

Otto Osteria

The most spectacular lunch from @ottobrisbane

✨ carbonara ($30)
✨ grilled squid ($32)
✨ burrata panzella salad ($12)
✨ natural oysters ($12)
✨ tiramisu ($12)

Otto has been a major player in the brisbane food scene for years now, but they’ve recently moved to a new location in Southbank and I went to check it out. Last time I went they only had their restaurant (not an osteria) and I wasn’t that impressed. The food was obviously good but I didn’t think it was worth the money - their pastas range from $55 to $70 and I think there are a lot of Italian restaurants in brisbane that are just as good for way more reasonable pricing. However their new venue has an osteria which is walk in only and has a smaller simpler bar menu. And as you can see it’s a stunning venue.

This food was amazing and such great value! The carbonara wasn’t as thick as usual but still really good, the squid was to die for, the burrata was so so incredible. The only thing I didn’t love was the tiramisu - don’t get me wrong it was great but not as good as other tiramisu I’ve had.

The service was also great. We were treated so politely despite being young and not dressed to the nines. I love a restaurant doesn’t discriminate based on those things.

I can’t recommend this place more for a sunny lunch! It’s so worth it in my opinion I’m so happy they’ve opened this osteria.
