This restaurant has been a highly anticipated arrival on james street in Brisbane, and was even voted one of the top 20 restaurants in Brisbane by the courier mail. But I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews so I was really interested to check it out for myself.

From what I can tell your experience will differ a lot depending on what you order. This pizza was probably one of the best I’ve ever had, the dough was lighter and fluffier than any other pizza dough I’ve tasted. If you do come here I’d definitely say to go with the pizza.

The pastas were ok. The bacon in the amatricina was like 70% fat so I ended up just having to pick them out becasue they were chewy and didn’t taste great. The pasta was also really salty.

The prawns and figs were both really good though. Really enjoyed both dishes. But they didn’t really override the underwhelming-ness from the pastas.

They also had a really nice cocktail menu though. This Carina was great, If not a little sweet.

The service was also good, and the food came out really quickly.

We spent $75 a head for 5 people including drinks which I think for the calibre of food is a little expensive.

If you want good pizza I would recommend. Otherwise stick with @bianca.restaurant or @beccofinoteneriffe
