Coca Chu

Coca Chu

Asian fusion from coca chu, Hamilton Island!

✨duck breast spring rolls ($34)

✨crispy chicken wings ($19)

✨beef tartare ($26)

✨edamame ($10)

✨prawn betel leaf ($6pp)

✨lamb ribs ($42)

✨prawn jungle curry ($44)

✨beef massaman curry ($40)

To start this off I will just make a blanket statement that Hamilton island is not a foodie destination. None of the food at the resort really blew me away.

In saying that, coca chu was really good!

Everything we ordered was tasty - except for the edamame which was cooked in butter which was the overwhelming (and very untraditional) flavour of the dish.

My highest recommendations would be the beef tartare and the betel leaf. Both were standouts!

The other thing about this restaurant is that I don’t think the venue matches the food. From these dishes I would expect something classy but it was extremely casual and loud.

Overall I would revisit if I were back on Hamilton island! It was a yum night out!
