This was my New Year’s Day Lunch @ciaopapi_ at @howardsmithwharves and it was delicious. The prawn pasta was as tasty as it looks, with the perfect richness of the prawns coming through in every bite. The pizza (Napoli style) had a perfect base, really great Parmesan, and good quality olive oil that just brought it all together. The fries were really nice and crispy, but ultimately we were already full from the other food and didn’t enjoy them as much (we shared these 3 meals between 2). Finally, the beer we tried is imported from a tiny craft brewery directly in Italy, and is only imported to a few countries, and was also really good. Unfortunately the service didn’t quite measure up to the food, when the staff were there they were fine, but it was almost impossible to find one when you needed them, and they didn’t come check on us much throughout the meal, so we left without dessert after waiting for 20 minutes for someone offer it. However, I totally get that this might be because it was a public holiday. Nevertheless I would still recommend you try it, the food and the view of the Brisbane river and story bridge (probably the best at HSW) make this restaurant very much worth a visit.
