Cartel del Taco

Is this not the most beautiful margarita you’ve ever seen? 
This is @carteldeltacobrisbane in Hawthorne and it’s definitely up there with the best Mexican in Brisbane. 
We got the chicken, pork, and steak tacos. The chicken and pork were both great, but the steak was over cooked and a bit tough. 
For starters we got the elote, which I order at literally single restaurant so I know a good one and sadly this was not it. It’s covered in tajin so it’s crazy salty and super sour which mixed together is just super overwhelming. We didn’t get the guacamole, but did have it on the tacos and I could tell it was good, it also comes in a gorgeous stone bowl. 
They also have Birria tacos which can be hard to find in Bris so good if you’ve been looking for that. 
The drinks menu is elite. A whole variety of margs. I got the gardener which is a passionfruit lime marg with a chilli rim. It was very sweet but that was balanced out well with the rim. 
On a sunny day it was pretty casual eatery but nice vibes. Would be best at night for atmosphere I think.
A great menu for both food and drinks. Would definitely recommend. Especially if you live on the Southside as this is the only great Mexican if tried out of fortitude valley / new farm 😂
