Date night Italian food from Amici Restaurant and Pizzeria

This cute Italian restaurant in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast had a great romantic interior, reasonable pricing, and really polite servers. They’re also BYO which is so refreshing for an upscale restaurant. I stopped by for my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend while staying in Caloundra.
However, the food was average. All the meals were good except for the Toscana which was pretty bland. The pasta itself also wasn’t great quality or anything.
Finally, while our waitress was very kind, the service overall was pretty shocking. We were told there was a limit on our seats when we arrived, which was fine everyone has these at the moment. However, if you’re going to put a limit on seating, firstly it should be reasonable and secondly make sure you can get the food out in time so your guest aren’t asked to scoff down their food. I had already looked at the menu prior and so we ordered the second we sat down and still half way through our mains we were told they had to bring the desert out now so that we could leave on time. For a nice restaurant no one should be forced to finish their plate quickly while desert is taking up space on the table. Not really an enjoyable experience.
Overall, if you live/are staying nearby it’s not a bad place to check out, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it for a special occasion.
